They had just stepped out of the office when they saw Lu Zhaoyang walking toward them.
Her hair was a little messy and she seemed hurried.
Where has she gone to? Su Cheng wondered.
Lu Zhaoyang pretended as though nothing had happened and stopped in front of Huo Yunting.
“What do you want for lunch?”
“Not you, that’s for sure.
”
She hesitated as she recalled what happened in the office earlier.
The smile on her face turned awkward.
“I don’t understand.
”
The three of them continued walking along the corridor, but a moment later, Su Cheng was gone from the scene.
Only the two of them were left when they reached the elevator.
The tiny space was filled with silence.
Huo Yunting drove them both straight back to his mansion instead of going somewhere outside for lunch.
When they were about to reach home, Lu Zhaoyang finally mustered the courage to say to him, “Earlier, in the office… I was wrong, I don’t actually like to…”

Sigh, there’s nothing I can say.
Huo Yunting waited for her to continue, but she remained quiet even after lunch.
How dare she seduce me like that but pretended like nothing happened after?

After dinner, he went upstairs himself.
Lu Zhaoyang sat alone on the sofa and browsed mindlessly through the channels on the TV.
She was in no mood for anything on the screen, however.
After a while, she switched off the device and took a glance at the stairs.
She then took out her phone and checked the calendar.
Huo Yunting’s birthday was approaching.
In the past, he would hang out with Mu Xian and gang on his birthday.
This year should be the same.
She never did anything for him on his birthday before, much less buying a present for him.
“Ma’am, would you like a blanket?” A maid brought a blanket to her and asked quietly.
It was the wish of the master of the house.
“Thank you.
” She took the blanket and covered her legs with it.
Did the maid think that she would take a nap here?
She noticed how the afternoon rays shone in through the window and found that the idea of a nap here was not so bad after all.
It was how she would spend an idle weekend.
She covered herself with the blanket and slept on the sofa.

Since she did not sleep well last night and had to wake up early this morning, the nap was long and restful.
It had been a long while since she slept this well.
When she finally woke up, the bright afternoon sun had turned into an orange subset.
She was going to have trouble sleeping that night after such a long nap.
“Ma’am, you’re awake.
” A maid approached her with a plate of fruits.
“Sir is at the backyard, would you like to…”
She looked down meaningfully at the fruit platter.
Lu Zhaoyang understood her immediately.
She took the plate from her.
“I’ll do it.
”
“Thank you, ma’am.
” The maid smiled and collected the blanket from her.
Lu Zhaoyang took the fruit platter to the back, where Huo Yunting was sitting under an umbrella and looking at his laptop.
Everything was so quiet and peaceful.
She tip-toed quietly to him and took a look at his laptop screen.
She thought he was watching a movie, but it turned out that he was doing work-related reading, and on a weekend no less.
She put down the fruit platter and picked up a small fork in the plate.
“What would you like to have?”
When Huo Yunting heard her voice, he flexed his fingers that were resting on the keyboard and started typing.
“I’ll have them all.
”
Lu Zhaoyang brought a grape to his lips and watched as he slowly opened his mouth.
He chewed on the fruit but said nothing else.
That was alright.
At least he did not reject her like before.
She remembered how lifeless he was back in the morgue and shuddered inside.
Slowly but surely, he finished all the fruits in the plate.
Lu Zhaoyang quietly put her finger near his lips.
When Huo Yunting took a bite, he realised that he was biting her finger.
