Zheng Shuyan’s words filled Wu Huai with rage.
“Doctor Zheng, have you forgotten your oath?”
A mocking look appeared on Zheng Shuyan’s attractive face.
The corners of his mouth dipped downward.
He looked at Wu Huai and said flatly, “Captain Wu, are you saying that it’s my duty to cure illnesses and save lives?”
Wu Huai gave him a stern glare but remained quiet.
“I know that, of course.

Wu Huai listened without saying a word.
His expression darkened.
He understood the conflict and pain in Zheng Shuyan’s heart.
“He forced a kind person like me to be cruel!”
Zheng Shuyan’s lips tugged into a faint smile.
He continued, “I didn’t want to frame any innocent parties.
I just wanted to kill Yuan Zhe.
That’s why his weird sugar cubes were such a great starting point.
He wouldn’t let anyone else drink the coffee with his mint flavored sugar cubes!”
Mu Chenyan heard everything clearly despite being outside the interrogation room.
It seemed that Zheng Shuyan had devising this murder since Wen Ya was first hospitalized.

Why did you insist on lacing the sugar cubes with the lethal substance?”

I could’ve poisoned his food or water instead.
However, this would’ve increase the chances of harming Wen Ya.

Zheng Shuyan’s gaze softened when he mentioned Wen Ya.
He also suppressed his voice and spoke in a gentler tone.

“You don’t have to arrest that servant either.

The truth to the case was revealed, but Mu Chenyan still felt that something was amiss.

His initially calm face abruptly turned savage.
He roared, “You’re all devils! Wen Ya has gone through so much, but you still refuse to let her off.
You keep insisting on bothering her! You’re supposed to pay attention to the evidence when you’re solving a case! You have to prove that Wen Ya was involved in this crime.
You can’t just make things up.
Little Ya is innocent.
She can’t handle your suspicions!”
