Why Did You Summon Me? - Chapter 111

Why Did You Summon Me? - Chapter 111

Chapter 111: Singing is Our Ultimate Problem-Solver After she continued to tease Undine for a while, the beautiful Barbarian King decided to let her off momentarily.

She summoned a servant from outside of the tipi and ordered her in the barbarian language, “Double the dose of the Poisonous Firefly Grass these few days.

Don’t give her any opportunity to escape at all.

Order more people to watch her and don’t let her kill herself.

She is the most important prize of this year’s Warrior Gala! I want to present her alive!” After the servant was dismissed, the Barbarian King turned her attention back to Undine, “Look, it’s already been a couple of weeks and nobody is here to rescue you yet! Isn’t it obvious? Nobody will come to save you at all! I’m sure you know it deep down inside your heart, right? Have you forgotten that Southerners will only flock towards benefits and flee at the slightest sight of danger? What are you still holding on for? Just undo your Chi and be a normal woman.

Don’t you worry, I’ll order the winner to treat you nicely.

I don’t want to see a beautiful woman like you ruined by a group of uncivilised men!’ Undine did not make a sound at all.

Instead, with all her might, she lifted up her head and locked her fierce eyes with the girl in front of her, her eyes conveyed her determination and indignation.

“What a foolish woman!” The Barbarian King spat before leaving the tipi and drew the blinds down again, leaving Undine alone in the dark and cold tipi.

… Perhaps, only God can save me now… Or, maybe that silly Tisdale? I hope she won’t come and try to rescue me… Undine who had completely lost all of her hopes thought to herself in despair.

Ever since she had been fed that weird poison by the barbarians, all of her strength, her innate body strength and the Chi prowess that she had trained so hard to gain, was sealed and now she was so weak that she could barely lift up her head, let alone attempt to kill herself.

And there were only three days to go before the Warrior’s Gala finally start… The next day, Baiyi woke the rescue team up early morning and used some water to help Mia wiped her sleepy face.

After he put the cloak back on her, he dragged her out of the cave forcefully and when they stepped out of the cave, Huskar was already waiting for them along with another two other Divine Warriors, Zar’Zar and Char’Char.

It seemed like Huskar had already explained the situation to them beforehand as the two fellows were beside themselves with excitement.

Zar’Zar, who had long put the slight dissapointment of being stood up by Baiyi at the back of his mind, exclaimed feverishly, “Let us descend the mountain and step on those ants! Cuckoo went to do a round of inspection before the sun came out just now, he saw many of those antsmaking their ways towards their King’s tipi.

This is a great time for us to make our grand entrance!” Three Divine Warriors? Hmm, coupled with my strength, this would be more than enough, Baiyi quietly calculated, not including the combat power of the rest of the rescue team.

Their greatest purpose was to take good care of Mia and Tisdale during the rescue operation anyway.

“How long does it take to go from here?” Baiyi asked again.

.

.

.

“It’s very fast by goat.

We only need one day!” Char’Char replied.

Baiyi nodded his head, a little taken aback by the muscles on the goat’s legs.

In truth, even though the Alpine Barbarians were all gathered at Harrogath, but the territory that they claimed for themselves was actually very vast, taking the whole mountain range for themselves.

Among the mountains, one was situated in the Northern Wasteland, that was the reason the two tribes had been fighting against each other for thousands of years.

Actually, the Alpine Barbarians were not very territorial, they usually only patrol a few miles away from Harrogath and that was why Baiyi’s rescue team could come so near to their capital.

However, the Alpine Barbarians were extremely merciless when they dealt with the Steppe Barbarians.

At the border where both territories met, they even specially set up a sentry with a Divine Warrior guard, along with an Alpine hawk-eagle, for scouting purposes, to prevent the Steppe Barbarians from coming close to their territory.

COM As a matter of fact, the Alpine Barbarians could not care less about the grassland at all.

Instead, it was the Steppe Barbarians who were extremely covetous and was interested in expanding their territory into the mountain range.

There were many valuable things on the mountains that made the Steppe Barbarian drool with greed.

The valuable precious herbs that could not be easily found on the grassland, the furry animal hides that were also Khan’s favourite, the rare high-priced materials that could only obtained from the Alpine wild beasts and even the Alpine hawk-eagle that was also known as the best scout to ever exist in the Isythre realm, were their targets.

Because of that, even though they would be beaten to near-death every time they clashed, the Steppe Barbarians were still highly interested in the mountains.

However, according to Huskar, ever since the current Steppe Barbarians’ King had stepped up to the throne, the tribe had been keeping their nose clean for quite a few years.

For that reason, the Divine Warriors found their lives to be a little boring, which also explained why the moment they heard of the plan, they immediately warmed up to the idea and became very excited about it.

Seems like their new King is a little different from the previous ones then? Not like those other Steppe Barbarians who only think with their fists and maybe the bottom half of their bodies as well! Then, this must mean that the King should have been able to see the benefits that the commercial route would bring them.

Why did the King suddenly decide to be so merciless? Baiyi could not comprehend it all.

Fortunately, there was no need for him to understand the issue anyway.

After having a casual chitchat with the three Alpine Barbarians, the rescue team was finally ready to depart.

Huskar let out a whistle, and soon, Mama goat and a few other goats who were equally strong appeared before the crowd.

“My God! Don’t tell me we’re gonna ride on those things?” Xillians asked hesitantly.

“You should feel honored to be able to ride it once in your life y’know.

This is not something that you can get to ride easily!” Baiyi snapped, “Or perhaps, you’d rather walk a couple of hundred miles to collect the body of your Lady Undine? Oh, I’m sorry, the naked body of your Lady Undine, I mean.

” Having those words aimed at him, Xillians could not think of any comeback at all.

So instead, he quietly climbed up on the back of the goat and waited for the rest to do the same as well.

Baiyi lifted Tisdale and Mia both at the same time and threw them on the goat before climbing up and sat behind the both of them.

Due to the fact that the goat’s back was wide and broad, he did not need to wrap little Mia up in a silkworm-like manner anymore.

After everybody had gotten on the back of the goats, Huskar leapt up onto Mama Goat and whistled sharply.

Immediately, all of the goats carrying the rescue team started to move forward, making their way to the Steppe Barbarian’s King’s tipi.

Before the journey could progress, a series of yells, and screams, and shrieks immediately filled the air, waking up the residents of Harrogath.

Considering that Harrogath was situated on top of a mountain, the goats were practically galloping with full speed down the vertical cliff.

To the Southerners who had never had experienced that before, the ride was like the world’s steepest roller-coaster ride, shooting down directly in a 90-degree manner, giving them a thrilling and blood-tingling once-in-a-lifetime experience.

By the time the goats finally reached flat ground, everyone, including the fighter, was hugging the goat’s neck tightly with they eyes shut.

Tisdale was so terrified that she even burst into tears.

One could foresee that such a situation would unfold again many times in their journey… Owing to the fact that the goats used all kinds of means to march on the steep cliffs to complete the journey, with their active leaps between boulders, streams, mountain peaks, they were able to reach the grassland all the way from Harrogath in just a day’s time.

By the time they saw the lush prairie by noon, blood had already drained from the faces of most of the members of the rescue team.

They were so pale that one could easily mistake them for having a heart attack.

When the goats halted their steps, all of them immediately dismounted and unanimously lay on the ground to empty out all of the contents in their stomachs.

Only Mia and Tisdale appeared to be doing quite well.

Halfway through the journey, Baiyi had cast a Hynopsis spell on them, forcing them to sleep.

Had he not done so, the two beautiful girls would most likely end up in the same boast as those people.

“Urghhhh! They’re so gross! I don’t even have the appetite to eat my lunch now!” Zar’Zar jeered disgustedly at the Southerners before putting back the rice biscuit that he was about to eat back in his pouch.

“Let’s take a small break.

It’s already pretty commendable that they are able to persevere throughout the whole journey.

Not everyone can get used to the goats after all…” Baiyi put in a good word for them as he understood the difficulties that the Southerners went through.

Chaplain was the first one who managed to recover from his nausea.

In a hoarse voice, he summoned all his might to cast a few recovery spells and helped them to recover.

The first word of the defense fighter who finally regained his voice was, “I never want to lay my eyes on a goat again!” “I-I almost thought that the beast that I rode on just now was a dragon….

” Xillians added in a husky voice as well.

“Ah’em not gonna ride even a horse anymair! Th’ horror o’ this ride wid be forever engraved in mah mynd!” Big Brother Zhang muttered in a voice that could only be heard by himself.

After getting a short break, where they ate some simple food and fed the goats with water and grass, the rescue team continued their journey once again.

Now that they were on the flat grassland, the goat ride was no longer as crazy and thrilling as before.

For that reason, Baiyi proceeded to wake the two little girls up and let them enjoy the view.

Being able to ride on such majestic mount and rejoice in the ride on the endless grassland to one’s content was ultimately a super refreshing experience— so refreshing and free that one could not help but want to yell out loud in the boundless prairie.

However, looking at the state that the rescue team was in, only the Alpine Barbarians could do that.

The others had long lost their soul from shouting in the previous mountaineous journey.

“Oh, prairie, prairie, look at how beautiful you are! You’ll be even more beautiful without those annoying tiny ants!” Char’Char exclaimed loudly and expressed his joyful feelings.

Together with Huskar who had the same feelings as him, they started to sing their Alpine Barbarians’ battle song.

“We are the pride of our ancestors, we are the glory of the mountains…” Two sonorous and heroic voices suddenly filled the air of the Southern Grassland.

Within minutes, a squad of about 50 Steppe Cavalries were making their way towards them.

Ignoring the cavalries who were armed with weapons, Zar’Zar continued to sing out loud, ” My blood is boiling in my chest, the enemy’s blood is surging in the mountains… ” Lifting up a spear, he nonchalantly threw it towards the cavalry squad, piercing through the chests of three Steppe Cavalries.

“My brothers’ by my side, my courage in my fist…” Char’Char continued the next verse.

Without any fear, he marched into the squad and with no weapons, with only his bare fists, he slammed into the calvaries who tried to stab their swords at him.

At once, blood and bodies could be seen flying everywhere, just like the blooming of a bright red flower.

“I-It’s the Divine Warriors of the Alpine Barbarians! RUN!!” Yells burst out among the squad, the cavalries trying their best to flee.

“This is our mountain song, the song of our victory…” Huskar finished singing the last verse of the battle song, a pleasant smile appeared on his face as he chased the group of Steppe Cavalries who was trying to escape
